HOUSE VISITS

Houses with a familiar and relaxed atmosphere are ideal for personal interactions and discussions on any issue. The family is the smallest unit of the congregation. Jesus valued personal visits to people. Every baby's steps begin at houses and grow in their Christian walk. They develop an intimate relationship with the all-powerful, transformational God as they exercise and apply His principles to living in homes and the world. The pastor and his congregation develop working relationships through such visits.

Spiritual blessings like family disputes subside, stubborn problems between neighbors are resolved, and home fellowship is encouraged. The pastor can fully understand the living conditions of members if he visits. This ministry offers an opportunity to reach the neighborhood and minister to families in a unique way because the neighbors feel free to come and learn or hear at their location in seeing or talking to the pastor. It demonstrates the high value that a pastor ascribes to his members. It is a means of nurturing member's family relationships, emotional stability, spiritual maturity, empowerment, and the sign of solidarity and moral support.

The pastor should know each member of the congregation by name! Their gifts, talents, and attitudes-and equally, the sheep should know the pastor (John 10:3, 14). The pastor should know God as God knows His appointed agent (John 10:15). The pastor should sacrifice for the welfare of the flock. The pastor should be a role model in the devotional life, Christian life, giving, and sharing. The person should have the qualities of self-sacrifice, showing concern for the sick, the aged, the needy, a clean administration, treating people with justice, etc. Loving Jesus is demonstrated in following Him and taking care of the congregation. It calls for going to people where they are and being part of their situations in life.
